We are a family owned and operated business based in Upper Hutt, Wellington and have been helping customers with their home, fashion and gift requirements for over 16 years. Gayleen Avison originally started the business in 2001 selling a range of Antiques and Collectibles then slowly progressed into new products due to a change in demand. Now stocking locally and internationally made products selected with a focus of unique on trend designs in home and giftware.
Over the years Gayleen has been joined by husband Deane, daughter Nicole and son Ethan, who have all brought their own flair to the business. Our flagship store Avison's Home & Giftware is where you will find the girls selling a variety of handbags, wallets, scarves and body care, while the guys look after Avison's Living & Leisure which sells men's gifts, wallets, travel bags, satchels, skincare, novelty gifts and magazines. Both stores have a range of small furnishings, mirrors, clocks, lamps and wall art - ideal for today's apartment dwellers and home renovators.
We are not just a 'bricks & mortar' business, we also sell selected products online through our website and have a variety of services available like our interior decor stylists to help make your shopping experience a breeze.
Pop into our stores to fulfill your home & giftware requirements, we look forward to meeting you!
Giving back to our community:
We really appreciate the support given to us by both the Upper Hutt and wider Wellington community throughout the years, so in recognition we have contributed back to the community by making donations to local schools, organisations and other charitable events. If you would like to approach us regarding any donations, please send an email to email@example.com and we will review your request.
Over the years we have also been constantly making changes to reduce our Ecological footprint to help create a more sustainable and green New Zealand. Steps we have taken so far include minimising the use of plastic bags with the intention to totally eliminate them in the future, reducing power consumption by using efficient lighting and recycling our waste. In late 2017 we decided to expand our environmental health program by looking at the products we sell and the effect they have on the environment, making appropriate changes where possible to significantly reduce or eliminate the possibility of pollution.
